Prenatal Home Consult
Once you book a consultation, I will send you a short google form to fill out. It should take about 10 minutes to complete and asks for information about you and your pregnancy, including a brief medical history and if you’ve had any previous breastfeeding experience.
I will call to your home on our agreed date and time and meet you - or both you and your partner - if that is your preference. Partners can often be a really important part of the breastfeeding support network, so it can be helpful to involve them, where possible.
I will perform a breast examination, if required and we will discuss your breastfeeding goals, along with any concerns you may have around breastfeeding. Some of the topics we’ll discuss will include normal newborn behaviour, what to expect in the early days and weeks, the importance of responsive feeding and how milk production works, along with cluster feeding and fussy evenings.
Breastfeeding is a skill that both you and your baby have to learn together and it can take time and practice to feel like you’re getting a handle on it. By booking a Prenatal Home Consult, you are already a step ahead and will be well equipped with evidence-based knowledge and support to get breastfeeding off to successful start.
